Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin has signed a contract extension at Tannadice, which will take him until the summer of 2026.

The 42-year-old led the club back to the top flight as Championship winners and sits in fourth place after collecting 16 points from his first 11 games.

“It was an easy decision,” said the former St Mirren and Aberdeen boss, who took over in March 2023, initially on a short-term deal.

“The long-term vision of the club aligns perfectly with my own ambitions as a coach.

“Last year was incredibly special and I am immensely proud to have played a part in helping Dundee United regain their rightful place among Scotland’s best clubs.”

Goodwin signed 13 new players for the Premiership campaign and the team has made a promising start to the campaign, losing just three league games.

“It is important that our focus always remains on the future and making improvements across the board, daily, monthly and annually,” he continued.

“We are trying to cultivate and maintain a culture that leads to sustained success, and to achieve this, our talented group of players and our hard-working staff must continue to embrace what is asked of them.

“An exciting challenge awaits me both for the remainder of the season and I look forward to taking it on with the continued support of my internal team and board of directors.”
