Jackson will miss at least the next four games, but coach Mike McDaniel said Saturday that he did not expect the injury to be season-ending. It’s unclear who will take Jackson’s place in the starting lineup, but veteran Kendall Lamm or rookie Patrick Paul are expected to fill the role.
Jackson missed 15 games in 2022 due to various injuries, but was durable in 2023, playing in 17 of the team’s 18 games. He was rewarded with a three-year, $36 million contract extension in December 2023.
Jackson had played in all eight of Miami’s games this season.
Wide receiver River Cracraft, who was placed on injured reserve after injuring his shoulder in the team’s first preseason game in August, was activated Monday. Cracraft could be called up immediately, as Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins’ top receiver, is doubtful to play in Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams with a wrist injury.
Miami also signed defensive tackle Neil Farrell to the active roster and elevated long snapper Tucker Addington and offensive tackle Jackson Carman to the active roster for Monday night’s game.
