Diablo 4 players who own Vessel of Hatred will get exclusive content in future seasons, but the bonus may not be as big as you think.

You may have missed this amid all the exciting content coming to Diablo 4 with Season 7, whose PTR begins next week, but Blizzard does We have bonuses planned for Vessel of Hatred owners.

This applies to season 7, which begins at the end of January, as well as future seasons. However, assuming the developer doesn’t hide any last-minute surprises, the upside is that, well, no that big deal in the grand scheme of things.

This trend actually started with Season of Hatred Rising, the currently active season of Diablo 4. Diablo 4 introduced the concept of Runewords at the beginning of that season, but the feature was (and still is) only available to players who own Vessel of Hatred.

Of course, the concept of Runes is not entirely new to Diablo. Like some things in Diablo 4, it was borrowed from Diablo 2. Runewords are socketable gems that require a condition to be met for their effects to activate. Many of the few that currently exist in the game allow other classes to activate certain abilities that were previously exclusive to the class.

Now that all the content for Season 7 has been revealed, we know that more rune words (and runes) will be introduced to the loot. Once again, they will be exclusive to Vessel of Hatred owners.

Obviously this is not accidental. In fact, Diablo boss Rod Fergusson told Polygon that the plan is to continue offering bonuses of this nature to anyone who purchases the expansion. Fergusson didn’t directly reference Runewords in the interview, so it’s possible that more rewards are on the way, although I don’t imagine Blizzard will want to widen the gap between owners and non-owners of the expansion.

The biggest reason one would want to buy Vessel of Hatred, of course, should be what’s actually included in the expansion, such as the (currently meta-breaking) Spiritborn class, the new explorable zone, the game‘s first raid, and Of course, everything. the narrative content.

Blizzard will most likely hold one last livestream before the release of Season 7 to clarify the remaining details, but don’t count on much being kept secret. The Patch 2.1 PTR will also include seasonal content for the first time.
