The coach of Colorado, Deion Sanders, says that he is not trying to direct Sheders to any specific destination in the draft next month and that he would be happy wherever his son of Mariscal de Campo Estrella is selected.
“Shedeur has told me that he has told me carefully about all the visits he has had with all the teams, so I know where his heart is, I know where he wants to go,” Sanders said in an interview with “The Skip Bayless Show”, in a video that was published on Wednesday. “If it is New York, it is New York, if it is Tennessee, if it is Cleveland, if it is still the raiders, if it is New Orleans, if it is any of those teams that are looking for a quarterback, I am happy with that, because I know what it is going to do with the organization.”
Deion Sanders’ comments to Bayless are in contrast to the comments he made last March, when he said about the “Million Dollaz de Game” that, “they are certain cities that will not happen. It will be an eli.”
“Eli” is in reference to twice marshal of the winning field of the Super Bowl Eli Manning, who was selected with the first general selection in 2004 by the Chargers, for those who said he would not play. An hour later, San Diego changed Manning to the New York giants, and the rest is history.
Bayless continued specifically asking if Sanders would try to “orchestrate” where Shedeur Sanders is recruited.
“No, no, no,” he said. “Because that is not the will of God right now. I want Shedeur to do what he has done consistently: Excel against all probabilities. I like hate, I like attention, I like ignorance because it makes us feel better with what we do and gives it another chip on your shoulder.”
Shedeur Sanders is expected to be selected in the first round. The ESPN Draft analyst, Matt Miller, has been selected No. 3 in general by the giants in his Simulated Seven Rounds Draft, which was published on Thursday.
