Dead Space’s annoying bug makes dealing with the Hunter even more difficult

The player becomes frustrated as the infamous necromorph The Hunter becomes an even more challenging foe due to a bug in Dead Space.

Due to a bug that was discovered and caused much annoyance, the recently released Dead Space remake becomes even more horrifying than usual. Even though this game is a remake of the original, it’s not impossible to find bugs that didn’t exist in the original 2008 hit. Even with a strong quality assurance team, a frustrating bug that prevents progress can be discovered given all the changes. When one player in the Dead Space remake faced a well-known foe, certain things simply managed to slip by.

In Chapter 5 of both the original and the remake of Dead Space, Isaac Clarke faces a challenging foe known as a Hunter. This being is unkillable except at certain points in the game, like Mr. X from Resident Evil 2. At the time, it was believed that shooting off an enemy’s limbs would instantly kill them, but the Hunter has the ability to grow new limbs. Additionally, it is powerful and prowls the area where the player encounters it, adding to the similarities with Mr. X.

Contrary to some amusing glitches that make the camera more reminiscent of classic Resident Evil, the bug discovered has resulted in being particularly frustrating for those who encounter it. Triggernometri143, a Reddit user, visited r/Deadspace and posted a picture of the Hunter standing there. Since the Hunter can regenerate its limbs, there is no chance to dismember it and slide past because they will just grow back and continue to block the way. They describe a bug where the Hunter is bugged and “completely unresponsive.” The user has tried everything to fix it, including dying for an auto-reload and reloading both manual and automatic saves, but nothing seems to have worked.

This user isn’t the first to encounter such a bug; numerous people have claimed to have done so in the comments and, allegedly, in the Steam discussions. Some of them suggested simply turning around and taking the alternate route to Medical, while others suggested stomping past it, which was successful for one of the users. Although an issue like this is still annoying, this player is not as unfortunate as the one who had only stasis packs for the Dead Space final boss because there are fixes for it.

It’s the developer’s responsibility to make sure that bugs and glitches are fixed so that the experience is not ruined for other players when the majority of games are released. This is a regrettable mixture of bugs, which can range from something amusing like a model glitching out to something incredibly annoying like hits not registering in Call of Duty: Warzone 2. Motive should soon be able to offer a solution.

Dead Space is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
