Dallas Cowboys three-time All-Pro running back Micah Parsons said he and the defense have to “be the light, even when it’s very dark” with the Cowboys’ injury-riddled offense struggling. Parsons backed up his talk with two sacks and a forced fumble by Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts, but Dallas as a team disappointed in a 34-6 home loss.

Parsons is now dimming the lights on his media availability, posting Monday that he will “just eat the fine” for missing NFL-mandated weekly media sessions.

“Hahaha, yeah, I’ll eat the good stuff for now! Because the way you twist words and turn them around to see the content is a nasty piece of work!” Parsons published in X.

Parsons kept his word by not speaking to the media on Wednesday. That’s the day the star pass rusher usually speaks to reporters each week, so it remains to be seen if he will continue to do so for the rest of the season.

Parsons’ decision comes on the heels of his comments about head coach Mike McCarthy’s job security following the Eagles’ loss, which came after the team’s owner and general manager Jerry Jones spoke openly about his judgment to make coaching changes. Parsons’ words It sounded like he was attacking McCarthy.who is in the final season of his contract with the Cowboys, despite his intention to say he felt more for players like perennial Pro Bowler lineman Zack Martin during Dallas’ 3-6 start to the year.

McCarthy ended up taking time out of his Monday morning to chat 1 on 1 with Parsons to resolve the situationand both left the meeting understanding that Parsons was not trying to undermine his head coach.

If Parsons misses his league-mandated media sessions, it could result in more and more sums of money disappearing from his pockets each week he chooses to boycott them. It remains to be seen if the superstar will continue to avoid speaking to the media.
