Commanders RB Robinson return to observe: ‘I think it’s excellent’

He was back on the court later, missing Sunday’s 30-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens due to a right knee injury that still sidelined him for the entire court appearance before that game.

Robinson was restricted Wednesday, a sign of growth, and went through all the drills with the alternate running backs, work routes and handoffs. That has led to optimism about his ability to play in Sunday’s games when the Commanders (4-2) host Carolina (1-5). On the other hand, his respectable situation will not be decided until Friday.

“I feel great,” Robinson said. “I feel more like myself again.”

Robinson leads Washington with 325 yards rushing; He has also completed 8 passes for 68 yards. With a top speed of over 200 yards in Weeks 4 and 5, the Commanders have a tight schedule for just 52 yards, and 2.9 yards per lift, against the Ravens.

But Washington opted to name Robinson for the game, wanting to ensure the issue doesn’t drag on.

Robinson said the presentation “helped tremendously.”

“B-Rob is a special player, his ability to run the ball, his ability to break tackles,” Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels said. “People don’t give him a lot of credit for his hands out of the backfield in the passing game. It will be helpful to have B-Rob back; I’m looking forward to it.”
