“I think we all feel that we want to facilitate the life of BO, so when it is there, it has options,” said open receiver Courtland Sutton near the end of the season. “We always want to continue pressing to make sure you feel good about where to go with the ball, that we will all make plays for him.”
Sutton looked like a single man on the receiver most of the time, leading the bronchos at receptions (81), yards (1,081) and TouchDowns (eight). While it is not uncommon for a receiver to lead a team in the three main categories, the total Sutton reception was 40 more than the next open bronchos receiver (Devaughn Vele). He had 578 yards and two touchdowns than the following open receiver in those two categories, also (Marvin Mims Jr.).
Then, as the Broncos look for ways to improve their offensive and that Nix is based on an encouraging debut season in which she launched 29 TouchDown passes, the second highest total for a rookie in the history of the NFL, improving her Wide receiver room this low season is a high priority.

Broncos are looking for games creators throughout the offensive this low season. The lack of multiple consistent reception options left the offensive of the broncos stuck in routines too often. Although there were many positive aspects (the Broncos obtained more points (425) than since 2014 and ended seventh in the NFL in the percentage of Touchdown in the red zone (62.5%), its offensive was reduced to a slow drip sometimes.

Payton said he sees the growth potential among the current receptors of the Broncos that could repair some of the problems. Vele was a reliable option for Nix in short and intermediate areas, since its 41 receptions were Sutton’s second in position. Payton has also said that Troy Franklin is on the way to providing more impact on the field after a complete low season. Franklin only had one game with more than two receptions during his rookie season, but provided an idea of his potential in the defeat of Denver’s wild card against Bills, catching a 43 yardas TouchDown pass from NIX to give the Broncos an early 7-0 advantage.
Denver will also seek external help to give Nix more game receivers.
