Alejandro Garnacho has some history with Manchester City.
Last season, he scored the opening goal when Manchester United surprised his local rivals in the FA Cup final, then posing with the trophy along with his young teammates Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund.
Little more than two months later, he returned to the target in Wembley when he scored on the community shield against the opponents of Manchester Derby this weekend, the first of the eight goals in his first 20 games of the season.
But then things took a recession.
Garnacho did not face City on December 15 after being abandoned along with his front partner Marcus Rashford.
Chief coach Ruben Amorim spoke that it was a selection problem after an evaluation of “training performance, game performance, commitment to teammates.”
“Pay attention to everything,” he said. “The way you eat, the way you put your clothes to go to a game.”
Unlike Rashford, who returned to the team only once and did not play again before joining Aston Villa borrowed in February, Garnacho was removed from the market immediately.
The sources said the problem was reduced to an interpretation of their reaction when receiving instructions while waiting to come in a Game of the Europa League
Amorim believed that Garnacho was not listening. Garnacho felt it was, while seeing how the game developed.
New at work, Amorim felt that I had to place a score. Garnacho’s rapid return, and the continuous presence confirms that the matter has been treated and forgotten.
But their performance levels have dropped. In 21 appearances from the city game, Garnacho has scored a goal and created four.
And after another frustrating performance against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, during which he had six shots without success and was shown a yellow letter for kicking the ball with anger, his future became the focus of fans’ discussion.
