NEW ORLEANS — Saints cornerback Paulson Adebo has a broken femur and will undergo quick surgery to repair it, teacher Dennis Allen said Thursday night.
Adebo was pulled in the second quarter of the Saints’ 33-10 loss to the Denver Broncos, the closest spot to his injury, trying to gain ground. They placed a vacuum splint on his leg before transferring him to a cart and pushing him to the storage room. He was transported to a closer local medical facility for X-rays, according to the game broadcast.
Adebo is the second starter the Saints have lost in this lifetime, as wide receiver Rashid Shaheed underwent closer meniscus injury surgery in Los Angeles last Thursday.
“We’re dealing with a lot of injuries right now, and that’s not an excuse. I don’t want anyone to misinterpret it as an excuse, but it’s a problem for us, and I think we’re all trying to fight through it.” through that,” Allen mentioned closer to the sport.
Allen said Shaheed, the team’s leading receiver this season and an all-pro kick returner, is a “big loss” as the team loses the explosive component he brought. The Saints were without both of their receivers against the Broncos, and Chris Olave was also out with a concussion.

The Saints (2-5) have lost five games in a row, and the second game without starting quarterback Derek Carr, who has been sidelined due to indirect trauma. The Saints have 10 days left before their game against the Chargers in Los Angeles on Oct. 27, but Allen said it’s “possible” Carr could play in games. Allen said it was much more likely that tight end Taysom Hill, who missed four of the last five games, would return before Carr.
The Saints are also playing without three starting offensive linemen. Starting center Erik McCoy is undergoing infrared surgery on his near groin, and Cesar Ruiz has knee trauma that has caused him to miss four games. McCoy’s alternative, Shane Lemieux, could also be on the injured list.
“It’s tough when you lose five in a row,” Allen said. “And when you look at all the injuries on top of that, it makes it a lot more challenging. I think our guys are fighting and yet the results aren’t showing.”
The Saints suffered their second instant loss and first five-game losing streak since the 2021 season. The Ceasars Superdome was virtually empty during the peak of the game Thursday night, and most Broncos fans joined in when Jake Haener replaced Rattler.
“I don’t blame the fans, it’s up to us… I’ve never experienced that, and if I were a fan, I’d leave too, because it’s just not good enough at the moment,” the Saints operate again. Alvin Kamara mentioned. “There’s a certain standard you have to meet.”
Rattler was sacked six times and had a hip problem late in the game, but said he was fine later. Cornerback Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) and offensive guard Nick Saldiveri (shoulder) were ruled out of the game. Saldiveri replaced the injured Lucas Patrick (chest), who was active but did not play.
“No one is coming here to be the savior,” Allen said. “We’ll have to do it ourselves. And hopefully we’ll start to get some guys back because look, at the beginning of the season we played good football, so I know this team has it in us. I have two tapes that show me that this team “He has good football and good training, but right now we are not playing that way.”
