What do you get when you mix Dave Bautista, Channing Tatum, Cate Blanchett and many other big names? A 50’s biker movie where the bikers are actually alien invaders.

Dave Bautista just joined a movie about a group of alien invaders who dress up as a ’50s biker gang, and he’s just the end of the A-list cast.

You probably don’t know David and Nathan Zellner, but with the excess cast tied to their upcoming film Apha Gang, you probably will soon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Guardians of the Galaxy and Knock on the Cabin actor Dave Bautista has joined the project, and there’s a long list of alternate names joining him, including Channing Tatum (Deadpool and Wolverine), Cate Blanchett (The Lord of the Rings), Steven Yeun (Invincible), Zoe Kravitz (The Batman), Lea Sydoux (Death Stranding) and Riley Keough (Insane Max: Anger Street). That’s a full dozen superstar energy in one movie, and it’s packaged into one attractive, laugh-out-loud idea.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alpha Gang takes place “in augmented reality” and follows some alien invaders who arrive on Earth in the 1950s, disguised as a leather-clad biker gang as they set out to conquer the planet. That all begins to be resolved when the extraterrestrial beings find out about something casual that we people like to call feelings, and Blanchett seems ready to play Alpha One, the head of the alien crew.

If you probably haven’t heard of the Zellner brothers before, there’s one perspective you’ve heard in their paintings before: They’re probably most easily recognized from the 2014 film Kumiko, the Charity Hunter, a film according to a legend. town about an Eastern woman who believed Fargo was a true love story, says it is, and is looking for the ransom money buried in it. This generation also protects Sasquatch Sundown, an equally strange film starring Keough and Jesse Eisenberg, who portray a sasquatch audience for a generation. You’ll be able to tell that “mostly weird” is the bro vibe.

Alpha Gang will soon be purchased on the upcoming American Movie Marketplace, and there are a dozen rumors about it, so you’ll almost certainly expect A24 to pick it up and quickly pretend it’s theirs.
