What do hot tubs do at Fisch?
While cruising the waters of Fisch, you will often come across eddies quietly going about their business.
They are not hugely aggressive. They won’t draw you in like a black hole if you get too close and can be easily avoided. But avoiding it is what you’ll want to do in most cases.
This is because Fisch eddies are deadly. If you disembark your boat and decide to swim in one, you will be submerged underwater with no way to escape. Your boat can park on top of them, but you can’t.
Even with scuba gear equipped, you will run out of oxygen before you can swim. In fact, you can’t swim while you’re in one.
That means certain doom. Enter one and you’ll see a death message saying the game should be relaxing before you return to your chosen Fisch spawn point.
But that is a normal, everyday whirlwind. The strange swirls work differently.
What is a strange swirl in Fisch?
The appearance of a Strange Whirlpool is communicated through an announcement on the server that says “A Strange Whirlpool has opened.” You will often see them at the top of the screen with a small chime sound.
If you notice the arrival of a strange whirlpool, it’s a sign to get in your boat, which is the opposite advice to a normal whirlpool.
Strange Whirlpools acts as the entrance to Vertigo, a special underwater cavern with some unique fish, rewards, and some of the best rods in the game. Just jump into a strange whirlpool to end up there.
However, finding a strange whirlpool can be tricky. The only difference between this and a normal whirlpool is the beam of light rising from it. Be on the lookout for that.
The game will also not tell you where it spawned. Sail the seas or communicate with others on the server to find it.
Another way to confirm if a Fisch hot tub is deadly or safe is to use Fish Radar.
Strange whirlpools cause a large amount of Isonade, the only way to find this almost extinct species.
If your fish radar shows an Isonade hotspot around an eddy, you’ve encountered a strange eddy. Hop on to finish at Vertigo – no scuba gear needed.
