Almost a decade ago, Warframe players used weapons like the Tipedo to fly through the air at ridiculous speeds. This turned the mobility game on its head, allowing people with the necessary dexterity to make it quickly through the levels. Digital Extremes, instead of removing this bug, made it a feature. Now, with Warframe 1999, it seems that a similar revolution in mobility gaming has occurred again.
This is all thanks to the Motorcycle, a summonable piece of equipment that allows players to hop on their own personal two-wheeled vehicle at will. It is planned that this can only be used in the new Warframe 1999 missions, a way to quickly traverse the sprawling city recently added to the game. However, players quickly learned that this could be invoked in missions outside of this new content, allowing for vehicle speeds where not intended.

Announced in-game, as well as on the official Warframe Reddit, the team has apparently decided to let things take their course. Warframe Community Manager Megan Everett provided additional information on what will be fixed to make the whole situation work. This includes this leniency not applying to other traverse vehicles, not being able to use the motorcycle in Archwing missions (since bikes can’t fly, of course), and any innovative issues that arise from this decision being fixed in due time.
It’s a wonderful decision, honestly. When Warframe adopted bullet jumping, it added a whole new layer to the game, forcing players to master movement skills to make the most of their time. It also allowed for greater verticality. One wonders if boss fights like Ropalolyst would be possible without this decision. Choosing to make the bikes usable in regular missions opens up all sorts of interesting possibilities.
