Unicorn Overlord fans may need to lower their expectations for additional content or a PC release. In an interview with GamesRadar, Takafumi Noma, the game‘s director, confirmed that there are currently no plans for DLC or a PC port.
“We are deeply grateful for the many players who have embraced our vision of a new strategic role-playing game,” said Noma. He acknowledged fans’ enthusiasm for more content or a sequel, but clarified the studio’s current stance. “Although there are no plans for further development at this time, I wouldn’t say no if it were up to me. “It would be great if we could make this happen in the future.”
When asked about a PC port, Noma was just as clear. Despite the recent success of other Atlus and Sega titles, such as Persona 5 and Metaphor: ReFantazio for PC, Unicorn Overlord will not be joining them. “We have no plans for a PC version at this time,” he confirmed.
This news might disappoint gamers who were hoping that Unicorn Overlord would follow other popular strategy RPGs like Tactics Ogre and Triangle Strategy, which found a home on PC. Although there are no immediate plans for further development, Noma’s openness to future possibilities offers some hope.
Currently, Unicorn Overlord is a console exclusive game available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch.
