According to reports, Ubisoft has implemented an “anti-acosation plan” for developers who worked in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
As reported by Pcgamesn, an anonymous Ubisoft employee told French News Network BFMTV that the plan was supposedly implemented to discourage employees to share their participation with the game in social networks.
The employee also said that Ubisoft has been associated with Canada’s communications security establishment to support their informed effort.
“It is a Canada initiative,” said the source (machine translated by Pcgamesn). “There is a team that monitors the networks and acts quickly in case of an objective attack. Unlike what we have had before, this is serious.”
According to the report, publications on social networks “will be closely monitored by a dedicated unit” and “lawyers are ready to file complaints in case of proven harassment.”
In response, a Ubisoft spokesman told Pcgamesn that his “highest priority is the security of [its] employees.”
“Our position has always been that the social media channels of the team members are their own,” said the spokesman. “Our top priority is the safety of our employees, included online, therefore, as a standard practice in Ubisoft, we offer guidance on social networks, digital security and support for the well -being of team members.
“We also share resources to help prevent and protect against online harassment, something that our teams have faced unfortunately.”
