Tyrese Maxey of Sixers hoped to lose the rest of the season, says Agent.

The Filadelphia 76ers star, Tyrese Maxey, is expected to be ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury to the fingertips, his agent and the Klutch Sports CEO, to ESPN, told ESPN.

Maxey has been out since March 3 and has tried to rehabilitate the finger, but is still dealing with discomfort and treatment needs, according to Paul.

Maxey, 24, has averaged 26.3 points of his career with 6.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 52 games this season. He made his first All-Star team and was the most improved NBA player in 2023-24, but he is shooting 43.7% of the race on the floor this season.

Maxey becomes the last high profile player to suffer an injury that ends the season for the last Sixers (23-53), who also lost Joel Embiid, Paul George, veteran Eric Gordon and rookie Jared McCain.

The last remaining hope of Philadelphia for the season will be to keep its first -round draft selection, which is protected between the age of six. If the selection remains among the top six, the Sixers keep it. If it is numbers 7 to 30, the choice will go to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of Al Horford-Danny Green’s exchange five years ago.

Upon entering the game at Thursday’s house against the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia has lost nine games in a row, 15 of its last 17 and 26 of its last 30, placing the 76ers in the fifth place in the classification of the lottery, two games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets in sixth.

Tim Bontemps and ESPN field media contributed to this report.
