Tyreek Hill does not mention the arrest when asked about the wrist even though he reportedly said it made the injury worse.

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was doubtful heading into the team’s “Monday Night Football” matchup with a torn ligament in your wristan injury that, he said, worsened when he was arrested in September. hill was arrested outside Hard Rock Stadium before the Dolphins’ Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after a traffic stop situation escalated.

“He said it’s something he’s really been dealing with all season,” Lisa Salters said before Miami’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. “He said it started at training camp, but then he said it got worse again when he was arrested just before the first game of the season. The police took him to the ground… and said that’s where the most damage was already done.” made”.

After the Dolphins’ 23-15 win over the Rams, Hill spoke about the wrist injury and when it occurred. When asked how he got hurt, he didn’t mention the arrest.

“Against the Commanders (in the second preseason game),” Hill said (via NFL Network), “and then I compounded it again by trying to block my tail over the course of the year.”

He went on to point out that injuries are just part of being a player in the league. It happens, it’s football. No excuses. There are a lot of guys in the NFL that are injured, that are injured. It’s part of my job description and I love it.”

Hill ended his touchdown drought and reached the end zone for the first time since Week 1. He said the touchdown was great until teammate Odell Beckham Jr. hit him on the back, apparently joking that he might have to miss Wednesday’s practice.

The wide receiver missed practices on Friday and Saturday ahead of the Week 10 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. He has not appeared with a wrist injury on any injury report as of this week and has not missed a game this season.

“He said he’s been quiet about [the injury] because he hasn’t really known how to feel or what to do or how to deal because he’s not used to being injured,” Salters said during the game broadcast. “He said, ‘That arrest ruined me,’ and he said, ‘I’m not going to let that stop me.”

Body camera footage of the arrest showed an officer forcibly removing Hill from his vehicle after a verbal altercation between the two parties. Hill, who was stopped for speeding and not wearing a seat belt, asked the officer not to hit the window, but did not roll it down all the way. This visibly angered the officer, which led to the situation escalating.

After he was removed from his vehicle, he was pushed to the ground and handcuffed. Hill said it was the officers’ force that worsened a wrist injury he had from training camp. One officer involved was placed on administrative leave.

Here’s a look at the body camera footage:

Hill has had a down year in terms of statistics. He has 34 receptions for 446 yards and just one touchdown in eight games.
