“To call this game a failure before it’s even out is wild to me” As Marathon draws some inevitable Concord comparisons, a former Firewalk dev urges folks to let Bungie cook

Bungie showed his marathon of extraction shooters on the weekend and finally gave him a release date: on September 23. Naturally, people had thoughts about what they saw, and a few began to compare it with the live service shooter Big Sony last year, Concord. Estimated, therefore, a former Firewalk developer has taken Reddit urging people to give Bungie a chance.

If you need a quick review, Concord fell in unprecedented time after its launch last August, being taken from the sale in less than two weeks after a quite hard bombardment out of the door. There was some debate on whether Sony could choose to bring it back with a new layer of paint later, but that ship sailed when the consoles manufacturer decided to obtain the Firewalk Studios developer.

Fast advance so far, and a publication in the Stephan Williams Subnet marathon, a former Concord developer who currently works as a VFX senior artist at Warme Studio Digital Extreme, under the username ‘-Mrspug-‘.

“I have been very cozy for many years, and I rarely publish Reddit/any social in regards to what is happening with my life as a developer/artist,” says its publication, “after reading the comments about Marathon being Concord 2.0 about Reddit, YouTube and Twitch, I just wanted life.

On that he was “heartbreaking” to see Concord suffer the destiny he did, and being quite open about the aspects of the game that could have contributed to what happened, Williams wrote that: “No one feels as bad as the people who spend their time to the line, hoping to entertain the masses of players around the world.”

“Seeing the faces of the developers in the Bungie transmission gave me hope and emotion for what will come for the marathon,” he continued, “I congratulate you for risking, trying something foreign for them, which is not proven, or guaranteed that it is successful. It takes a lot of courage.”

“I really did not want to be ‘that’ development, calling attention to myself as if I had a horse in this fight,” Williams added in an answer, “but calling this game a failure before it was outside is wild for me.”
