A group of government developers behind The Witcher 3 have seen their new role-playing game, The Blood of Dawnwalker.
Previewed via new Polish studio Rebellion Wolves and revealed via Bandai Namco, The Blood of Dawnwalker is described as “a single-player open-world dark fantasy action RPG with a strong focus on story and narrative”.
The game is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A debut trailer was revealed on Monday, with a full reveal of the game planned for the summer.
“You play as Coen, a young man turned Dawnwalker, who always treads the line between the world of day and the realm of night,” says a synopsis of the game.
“Use your abilities and combine vampire strength with human determination as you embark on a quest to save your loved ones. Face your enemies, whether they are humans, monsters or the clock itself. But remember: true evil may bask in the sunlight, and the most loyal allies may lurk under the cover of night.”
Rebellion Wolves is directed by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who was sports director for The Witcher 3 and head of production/secondary sports director for Cyberpunk 2077.
The game director is joined at his new studio based in Warsaw, Poland, by Bartłomiej Gaweł, who used to be the art director of The Witcher 3, as well as essayist Jakub Szamałek (Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Thronebreaker), the design director Daniel Sadowski (Witcher 1), animation director Tamara Zawada (Witcher 3), financial director Michał Boryka and studio director Robert Murzynowski.
CD Projekt Crimson veteran Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz has joined Rebellion Wolves as director of late. He spent almost 13 years at CD Projekt, currently holding positions such as quest outfitter on The Witcher 3 and its expansions, and quest director on Cyberpunk 2077.
