The US is expected to organize the Women’s World Cup in 2031, it could join other nations of Concacaf

The United States is on the way to Co-Emprerion of the Women’s Cup 2031 together with other North American nations, while the United Kingdom will celebrate the subsequent edition in 2035, with FIFA confirming on Thursday that these were the lonely offers for the rights of the two tournaments.

The deadline of the FIFA to present offers for the rights of hosts to any of the competences is Saturday, although no other nation seems to be prepared to express interest. Any country that meets the deadline on Saturday will have until May 5 to confirm its offers by presenting the Bidding Agreement.

American football had previously expressed interest in organizing the 2027 Women Tournament 2031. FIFA extended the Male World Cup from 32 to 48 teams from the 2026 edition, cohosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, and that expansion could reach female competition in time by 2031.

“We are excited about the opportunity for CO -Anfitrion of the FIFA 2031 Women’s World Cup and, in collaboration with our Concacaf partners, we are committed to offering a tournament that leaves a lasting legacy, one that raises women’s football worldwide and inspires future generations of players and fans,” American football said in a statement on Thursday. “As FIFA ends the number of teams participating in the tournament, we will solidify our association structure with other Concacaf nations. We hope to share more details and reveal our complete vision for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in the near future.”

The United States has been host of the Women’s World Cup in 1999 and 2003, with the US National Team of the USA. Winning the second of its four titles during the 1999 competition. The 2003 edition would be presented in China, but the outbreak of Sars saw FIFA move it to the United States.

By the time the 2031 tournament takes place, the United States will also have the experience of organizing two world cups for men in 1994 and 2026.

The 2035 edition, meanwhile, will be a joint effort between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. None of those nations has organized a women’s World Cup before, although England was the host of the Male World Cup in 1966, when the hosts won their only title. England also hosted the 2022 female euro, which established assistance and audience records and pointed out a new era of growth for the women’s game in the football loving nation.

“We are honored to be the only bidder for the Women’s Cup 2035. Organizing the first FIFA World Cup since 1966 with our origin partners will be very special. Hard work begins now, to organize the best possible offer for the end of the year,” said England CEO Mark Bullingham in a statement.

The FIFA will formalize the hosts of the Women’s World Cup 2031 and 2035 in the second quarter of 2026.
