The Super Bowl ring, the former NFL open receiver, Plaxic Burress, won with New York giants, has been auctioned. The ring was sold for $ 280,600 on Sunday for heritage auctions.
The ring was previously published in the auction block earlier this month at the time of Super Bowl Lxi, and Burress in a letter authenticated it on November 16 in a letter.
The Burress ring is now the second most expensive Super Bowl ring that has been sold in the open market. The ring of the former coach of the Baltimore Colts, Don McCafferty, of the Super Bowl V was auctioned in 2022 for a price of $ 300,000,
Burress had a very important role in the Super Bowl Lxi while caught the player’s touchdown pass in recent seconds to bring the giants to victory. In doing so, the giants dethroned a previously undefeated Patriots team that included people like Tom Brady and Randy Moss.
After his victory at the Super Bowl with New York, Burress dealt with multiple financial and legal difficulties. The most notable occurred when he shot in the leg with a gun without a license in November 2008 in a Manhattan nightclub. Burress ended up serving 20 months in prison after declaring himself guilty of attempted possession of weapons.
Burress spent four seasons with the giants after being selected with selection No. 8 in the NFL 2000 draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent the last two seasons of his career with the Steelers once again before retiring from sport.
