The Panthers again sign the QB Andy Dalton to a two -year agreement

Charlotte, NC – Veteran Campo Mariscal Andy Dalton has been fundamental in the development of Bryce Young, and on Tuesday the Carolina Panthers ensured that the relationship will continue.

Carolina returned to Dalton, 37, to a two -year contract, announced the team. The terms were not revealed, but a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN that the contract has a value of $ 8 million, includes $ 6 million guaranteed and has a maximum value of $ 10 million.

Dalton was scheduled to become a free free agent next month. He made clear after the season that his preference was to return to Carolina, and Young, the best choice of the 2023 draft, made it clear that he wanted Dalton to return.

“Andy and I are super close,” Young, the seafarence of the headline of the Panthers, said late last season. “Since I arrived here for the first time, just being able to talk to him through things, having a perspective of a situation in which I had never been part of.

“You can’t add the hours we spend here … and just be able to have someone you can bounce, ask how you see things, whether x and o o O o is something philosophical or things outside football somewhere nuanced in the middle .

Dalton signed a two -year agreement and $ 11 million with the Panthers in 2023 to help develop Young.

The veteran became the headline in week 3 last season after Young was in bank due to bad numbers during a start of 0-2 after a 2-14 rookie season.

Dalton launched 319 yards and three touchdowns in its first start, a 36-22 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Despite losing the next four games, he remained the headline until he suffered a thumb injury for his launching hand (right) in a multiple accident before the game of week 8 of the team in the Denver Broncos.

He never recovered the work as a young man, after losing to the Broncos, took Carolina to consecutive victories and showed a constant improvement for the rest of the season. Dalton finished the season with 989 yards passing, 7 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while completing 66.3% of his passes.

Dalton, a second round of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 Draft, has launched 39,500 yards with 253 touchdowns and 150 interceptions in 14 seasons. It has been selected for three Pro Bowls.
