There are a lot of absolutely huge Skyrim quest mods, and one that already had a full plague spreading like a real epidemic has gotten much bigger, thanks to a new hotfix full of additions. It’s called Death Consumes All and it’s inspired by The Witcher 3’s brilliant Hearts of Stone DLC.
Now, you may have already played the original version of Death Consumes All, which came out in 2020 and has racked up over 100,000 total downloads on Nexus Mods since then, as people watched the 10-hour branching and voiced questline of duration of its creator Anbeegod. had gathered and said, “I don’t care if I do it.”

Since that time, the modder has been busy working on a new version that overhauls basically everything, raising the length of the main questline to about 30 hours in the process. It has just been released to the public, under the title not unlike ‘Death Consumes All – DLC Quest Mod (Renewed)’.
The premise is the same as its predecessor: a deadly plague is spreading across Skyrim through a game system designed to mirror the spread of real-world epidemics, threatening to “consume all” and turn everyone into non-human creatures. dead Along with a full-fledged follower named Livia Salvian, you will have to “fight fearsome enemies, discover the truth behind the terror, and decide the fate of the kingdom.”
That being said, with this new version of the mod, a lot of things have changed. Anbeegod writes that they have “completely revamped most of the original quests to give them a much better flow, narrative, and writing,” as well as adding “new quests with deep storytelling and diverse options,” including a new introductory quest, to bring the overall total increased from “over 13” to “over 17.” Aspects such as voice acting have also been improved, as the total number of lines of dialogue in the mod has increased by 1000.
They also added the ability to “deactivate the plague” and prevent it from completely killing people, which is something medieval peasants could actually have done in the 14th century. Hopefully the other tweaks will help make battles feel better designed and balanced, as well as decrease the number of bugs and mod conflicts you’re likely to encounter.
It certainly looks great if you’re prepared for 30 hours of dark and dirty undead battles while your Dragonborn wonders what they did to deserve being trapped in so many different apocalypses. Anbeegod has also suggested that “50% of the donation points from this mod will be shared with Doctors Without Borders to fight epidemics in real life”, which is good.
