In spite of all its success, one of the lasting legacies of the Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal association is the fact that they led the last successful three -mobile rate in the four main professional sports leagues in North America.
From 2000-02, Los Angeles Lakers won three consecutive NBA Titles, a level of success that the Chiefs tried to match this season, but finally failed to achieve after their 40-22 defeat against the Eagles in Super Bowl Lix. Kansas City joined the eight consecutive Super Bowl champions that could not make three turbas. The 1965-67 packers are still NFL Last team to win three consecutive titles.
The success of the Lakers from the early 2000s occurred after the domain of the Chicago Bulls led by Michael Jordan of the NBA in the 90s that included not one but two three successful turbhes. The three tattors of the 2000 Lakers concluded only four years after Jordan took the Bulls to his second successful tattine and less than two years after the Yankees won their third consecutive title of the World Series.
Four three mobs in less than a decade of time probably diluted the achievement of the Lakers. Instead of celebrating it, the immediate question was how many more titles Kobe and Shaq would win in the coming years.
The answer was finally zero. The sweeping of Los Angeles about Jason Kidd’s networks in the NBA finals of 2002 was the final championship for those Lakers teams. The Lakers returned to the NBA finals in 2004, only to be crushed by the Detroit Pistons in the sweeping of a gentleman. Shaq was changed that low season, thus ending one of the most successful, entertaining and polarizing associations in the history of sports.
Dominant is also a word that could use precisely to describe the Lakers in those years. The 2001 Lakers had 15-1 in the playoffs, since it took a Herculean effort of Allen Iiverson in the final for the angels to suffer a defeat in the postseason. The Lakers responded to their only defeat in the playoffs with four consecutive victories along the way to successfully defend their title.
A year later, the Lakers passed through the pioneers and the Spurs in the first two rounds before surviving an epic battle of seven games with the Kings. In the finals, Kobe and Shaq’s talent was on full exhibition while dismantling the networks surpassed in four games.
In the decades since his time as teammates, he seems to have focused more on what Kobe and Shaq did not do together. However, that could begin to change if they continue to be the last association that won three consecutive titles together, a period of time that is now 23 years old and telling.
