There’s a new trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Maximum Hen, and that penguin is about to reject perfection once again.
Wallace and Gromit could very much be a show where you scroll through Wikipedia and realize, “ah, this is one of those British things where they do like four episodes that repeat for decades afterwards,” and through 4 , i Almost Ruthless 4, as there have been four films released over the years and only one detailed film, Curse of the Rabbit. However, in the next two decades, Wallace and Gromit are back in a detailed new film, Vengeance Maximum Hen, which just received a new trailer from the BBC and Netflix today. This true day trip sees the return of a deteriorating rival to the titular duo, Feathers McGraw, who has apparently framed everyone’s favorite inventor in a series of stolen farmland artifacts.
The film seems great for returning to the strategy of the old series, although it’s helpful to note that you won’t be hearing the same Wallace you’re used to. Wallace’s intact character, Peter Sallis, had retired from the character and in 2017 died at the age of 96, so Ben Whitehead has been voicing him since his appearance in the various parts of the Wallace and Gromit animation that have been carried out in subsequent years.
The Vengeance Maximum Hen website explains that within the film, “Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified when Wallace invents an ‘intelligent’ gnome who appears to develop a mind of his own. When it emerges that A vengeful figure from the past might be planning things, it’s up to Gromit to fight sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace will never be able to invent again!”
Rounding out the cast are some names that will be familiar to many Brits who watched a lot of TV in the 2000s, including Peter Kay, Lenny Henry, Adjoa Andoh, Diane Morgan, Reece Shearsmith and Lauren Patel.
The film is currently set to premiere on BBC iPlayer in the UK this Christmas, December 25, and will be available globally on Netflix on January 3, at a later event.
