The free agent Tyler Conklin reaches a 1 year agreement with Chargers


The veteran wing closed Tyler Conklin agreed a one -year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, his agent, Mike McCartney on Friday.

The agreement is $ 3 million and could grow up to $ 4.5 million with incentives, a source to Adam Schefter of ESPN told.

Conklin joins a closed wing room in Los Angeles that also includes Will Slesly.

Conklin spent the last three seasons with the New York Jets, with whom he established himself as a reliable possession receiver. He had 170 receptions, tied in eighth among the wings closed in that period, for 1,622 yards and seven touchdowns.

Conklin’s numbers fell in 2024, since Jets air attack revolved around Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams open receptors. Conklin handled four TouchDown trapped, including the TouchDown 500 pass of the Aaron Rodgers Mariscal race in the final game of the Jet season.

When Conklin was attacked, it was usually a verification option. He averaged only 5.23 aerial yards by objective, with much his lowest among his three seasons in New York. Statistically, it was the safer passes receiver of the team, without falling in 73 objectives in 2024.

Conklin, 29, signed with the Jets in 2022 and developed his entire contract (three years, $ 20.3 million).

Conklin spent his first four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, who recruited him in the fifth round in 2018. He produced 93 caught, 922 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Conklin began his university career as a basketball player at the University of Division II Northwood before transferring to the center of Michigan for football.
