The director of PlayStation’s Wolverine has taken charge of Xbox’s Perfect Dark

The creative director of PlayStation’s Wolverine game has joined Xbox’s The Initiative to direct its reboot of Absolute Best Dull.

As first reported via Sport Report, sportswear maker Brian Horton, who until now was publicly named as creative director of Insomniac’s 2021 Wonder Wolverine title, left the studio in the summer.

Wolverine is now being guided by the design duo behind Ratchet & Clank: Rift Aside from 2021, creative director Marcus Smith and sports director Mike Daly, it is claimed. Wolverine’s previously announced athletic director Cameron Christian will reportedly remain with the studio in a different role.

According to Sport Report resources, the change in Wolverine leadership is the result of creative decisions throughout the game.

The game’s former creative director Horton, who previously directed Wonder’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and 2015’s Stand of the Tomb Raider, has joined his fellow Crystal Dynamics alumni on Xbox’s The Initiative.

Horton “will bring his wealth of experience to the upcoming reboot of the classic secret agent series,” an Xbox representative told Sport Report.

Xbox finally confirmed gameplay for the Absolute Best Dull reboot this summer, four years after it was announced. The sport has reportedly gone through a difficult structure. VGC reported in March 2022 that the Xbox studio had experienced a “fast and furious” flow of senior leadership departures during the previous event.

The Wolverine game was announced during a PlayStation Show tournament in September 2021, as was Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2, at which time it stated that the name was in “very early development.”
