The center of Jaguars, Mitch Mors withdraws after 10 seasons from the NFL

Jacksonville, Fla.-The center of the Jaguars, Mitch Morse, announced his retirement on Thursday morning, ending a 10-year race in the NFL that began with the Chiefs in 2015.

“The things that I will remember and appreciate more of my career are the relationships and ties that I created with my teammates, both inside and outside the field,” Morse said in a statement. “Nothing can replace that, and I will miss it a lot.

“I want to thank the bosses of Kansas City, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars for 10 unforgettable seasons. Above all, I want to thank my wife, Caitlin, and my children Kennedy and Deacon for their constant love and support on this trip. I hope to spend more time with them while I navigate in retirement.”

The Jaguars signed Morse with a two -year contract worth $ 10.5 million last March, which included a signing bonus of $ 4 million and $ 7 million guaranteed. It began the 17 games in 2024 and occupied the fourth place between the centers in the rates of locking gain (96.1%), by ESPN investigation.

Kansas City recruited Morse, 32, in the second round in 2015 (49 ° in general) and began 15 games as a rookie. He signed with Buffalo in 2019 and did the Pro Bowl in 2022. Morse has started 143 games in his 10 years of career.

Morse’s retirement leaves the Jaguars with holes in the center and the right guard because the team is not expected to sign the right guard Brandon Scherff.

Morse was signed to be an update on Luke Fortner, the third round of the team in 2022 that began each game in its first two seasons, but had problems such as passenger blocker (37º in the rates of gain gain of passes in 2022-23).
