About 35 years after experiencing an overwhelming feeling of mild disappointment thanks to the Terminator 2 of Ocean Software: the day of the trial in the Spectrum ZX 128K, I can tell you a new adaptation of video games of the success of James Cameron’s films, this September will be held. But despite the furious march of technology, this will also be 2D.
Terminator 2D: No Fate is the work of Bitmap Bureau of the developer, the study behind the tastes of Xeno Crisis and 88 Heroes, and is looking to offer a good lateral displacement action of ancient arcade style inspired by “iconic scenes of Terminator 2” and “original scenarios”.
His obvious point of sale is his art of pixels quite remarkably animated, but, according to the Terminator 2D announcement, he also has a bit where you can walk through a bar like T -800, destroying the bad guys while shamelessly in the nude. However, it happens, the T-800 (naked or other) is only one of several characters that you can play as in Terminator 2D.
Bitmap Bureau says that the T-800 has been designed to emphasize its weight and power, with movements that include a devastating shoulder barge. And although it is slower than the other playable characters of Terminator 2D, Sarah Conner and John Connor, it also has a high durability. As for Sarah, it is agile and reactive, protruding in melee combat with a sliding attack. However, you can also display your laser view, enclosing it in its place but that significantly increases damage.
John Connor, meanwhile, will be playable as an adult during the future war missions of the game. It is not as agile as Sarah, but it can evade attacks with a tactical roll, and also emphasizes long -ever combat, with a plasma rifle, pipe pumps and three types of ammunition. And, of course, the iconic T -1000 is back as the main adversary of the game: the liquid metal skills included.
Terminator 2D: No Fate, which also includes multiple finals, leaving players to decide the future of humanity: it is launched for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch and PC (through Steam and Epic) on September 5.
