Sunrisers duo Warren and Tennant to take charge of Essex Ladies
Essex have appointed Sunrisers duo Danni Warren and Andy Tennant to oversee their girls’ set-up as they transition to a Tier 1 situation for next season.

Warren, previously regional director of women’s cricket for London and the east, will move to the role of chief efficiency officer in Essex. Tennant, a former Scotland international, will come in as team manager of Essex Ladies, having previously been senior tutor at Sunrisers.

“I am incredibly excited to take on this new role with Essex Women as we enter a new era for women’s professional football,” Tennant said. “Having worked with Danni and the majority of the Sunrisers staff and players, I know the strength and potential of the team we are building here.

“Our approach would be to develop a situation where the players and team can thrive and achieve their goals, both on and off the grasslands. This is an out-of-this-world alternative to power against sustainable luck and supporting Essex Ladies . becomes a major driver of the game and I know we are all eager to get started.”

Warren has been Sunrisers regional manager since 2020 and hired Tennant as a tutor ahead of the 2023 season. In late summer, they oversaw Sunrisers’ first title in the women’s regional, when they defeated South East Stars in the Rachael Heyhoe Trophy final Flint.
