Dotemu and Guard Crush Games, the studies behind the acclaimed Beat ‘Em Up Streets of Rage 4 of 2020, are being associated again for something a bit different: Absolum, a side wear fighter with fantasy theme with rogue elements that are being launched this year.
Absolum aims to combine “Arcade Thrilling Beat ‘Em Up Action” with “intricate and refined combat” to create what Dotemu is describing as a “rogue”. There is talk of missions, branch roads, NPC, unlockable elements, permanent warriors and combinable characters, all in a fantasy adventure that channels the spirit of classic fighters, including golden ax.
The Absit’s action takes place in Talamh, a world of cosmic wonders and horrors grabbed by war after a cataclysmic magical event. That is where the band of rebels of four people in the game enters, all in an epic search to oppose the Azra King and free Talamh after they are imbued with a powerful magic.
The four rebels are playable (only alone or cooperatively) and present their own unique skills and personality set, and so far two have been revealed. This galand, for example, an agile fighter coated with swords designed to excel in combat of closed rooms, while Karl is a dwarf -shaped dwarf armed with devastating blows and a rifle that can tear down the opponents from afar.
“Absolum combines body combat in the form of arcade with spells, counters, improvable skills and unique playable combatants,” explains Dotemu, “organizing a great high -risk search in a variety of handcraft stages by hand.” Those stages, and the striking visual style of Abecum, have been attacked by the artists and animators of Animation Studio Suppamonks.
Absitum does not yet have a release date, but will reach PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch and PC (through Steam) at some point at the end of this year.
