Sporting confirms Man United’s plan to activate Rubén Amorim’s .8 million release clause as Ten Hag’s replacement

The Lisbon outfit revealed this Tuesday Manchester United’s intention to hire coach Rubén Amorim, an important construction as the English club temporarily goes on strike to name Erik Ten Hag’s successor.

In a statement to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission, Lisbon said United “had expressed interest” in signing Amorim and is willing to pay his $10.8 million release clause. United will reportedly have a three-person delegation in Lisbon to continue the conversation, according to the parents, although it is unclear how quickly a trade will be reached.

The Red Devils reportedly hope to complete a trade within a month for Sunday’s game against Chelsea, according to ESPN, even though they have an on-field contingency plan. Former United player and Ten Hag partner Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team’s age, the search for an unused manager continues and he will watch Wednesday’s EFL Cup match against Leicester Town.

Wearing’s evident desire to make industry is due to the fact that they have already covered for Amorim’s successor, Jooo Pereira. The former Wearing player, who won the Primeira Liga with Amorim throughout the 2020-21 season, is recently coaching the stock team, but finally has a move to take charge of the senior team which will have to leave the position vacant.

Amorim may simply speak on the subject on Tuesday, when he is assessing Wearing’s Taca da Liga match against Nacional, which could be his last game on the sidelines for the club if United can complete a trade on the desired schedule.

The Portuguese club’s comment comes as closer reports emerged on Monday that United covered for Amorim as Ten Hag’s successor. The willingness of the partners to pay Amorim’s suspension clause is cleared within a few hours Ten Hag’s dismissaland Amorim was equally visible for conversations, according to The Athletic.

Amorim, 39, is considered one of the emerging managerial skills in Europe who is closest to making a name for himself in his home Portugal. He has spent most of his managerial career with Wearing, who hired him in March 2020 and was very lucky under his leadership, winning the Primeira Liga in the 2021-22 season and the 2023-24 season. The league title at the end of the 2021-22 season ended a 19-year drought in a league long ruled by Benfica and Porto. They are at the top of this season’s standings with an excellent nine wins out of nine and are recently in eighth place in the UEFA Champions League standings with seven points out of nine.

Amorim prefers to play with its groups in a 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 formation with defensive balance and choice of dominance, all ages have a versatile attacking technique. He has also worked with a handful of players who went straight to sign for government clubs in Europe, such as United’s Manuel Ugarte and Manchester Town’s Matheus Nunes.

His luck in recent years means he has already been linked with some high-profile jobs in England, including Liverpool and West Ham. Amorim was thought to be the favorite to beat Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool until Arne Slot filled the role, although he later traveled to London to discuss his opening duties, but after calling the trip in April a “mistake” for the moment.

Despite Amorim’s resume, he would have a difficult process ahead of him at United. Not only do they now sit in 14th place with three wins from their first nine games, their worst start to a season in 35 years, their problems are bigger than the executive. The team has cobbled together a team that lacks quality players and usually consists of underperforming players. Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes are the only players with any goals or assists this season, high-profile players like Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund were out of form for over a year.
