Silent Hill 2 Remake’s graphical glitches on PS5 Pro have finally been fixed

Konami has implemented a new Silent Hill 2 Remake update to fix graphical issues affecting the horror game on PS5 Pro.

The patch comes after Silent Hill 2 Remake players asked Konami to fix technical issues still plaguing the game on PS5 Pro, almost two weeks after the Pro launched.

The Pro patch’s image quality issues aren’t as visible in still shots, but are evident in motion; This video should help illustrate the problem. Watch on YouTube

Patch v.1.1.248,905 is now available on PS5 and PC. The PS5 patch specifically targets “graphical glitches” on PS5 Pro, as well as trophy counting, while the Steam patch fixes “an issue that caused interference between save games and controller vibration”, sensitivity and mouse input and driver issues.

Gameplay fixes on both platforms fix door markers on the Brookhaven Hospital map, prevent enemies from getting stuck in environments, and various other bugs and glitches – the full list of fixes is here.

The patch also resolves a “minor blocker” that prevented some players from escaping the Labyrinth after obtaining the map, an unspecified “progression blocking issue” in Brookhaven, and an issue where the final boss was missing for some.

“Overall, the philosophy for any PS5 Pro update should be that we get an upgrade over the base PS5, with no notable trade-offs,” Digital Foundry’s Thomas Morgan wrote earlier this week after analyzing Silent Hill’s PS5 Pro patch. 2 Remake.

“However, the reality of the Silent Hill 2 Remake Pro upgrade is that it has pros and cons. PS5 Pro improves game performance to 60fps, and brings us to a vastly improved 30fps lock, both of which are welcome improvements “.
