Scotland fans have struck in Athens after the victory of the 1-0 team over Greece after a fire near Heathrow’s health in London on all flights.
Supporters who return to Scotland from the Greek capital have had to find alternative routes home through Dublin, Milan and Istanbul due to the interruption caused by an electrical substation fire.
The British Airways services in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness to Heathrow, which is the most busy airport in Europe, have also been affected.
But Tartán’s army remains in a good mood as a result of the team’s victory, and some say they will stay in Greece for a celebration.
Passengers are advised to verify if their flights have been affected and communicate with the airline for more details.
‘Possibility of taking’
Gavin Keith and Edith Stewart, from Aberdeen, only learned of the interruption when they woke up in Athens on Friday morning.
They were part of a reserve group back to Aberdeen through Heathrow in a BA service.
Since then they have been told that they will be on a flight from 5:00 p.m. to Heathrow, but they don’t trust that.
However, they remain in a good mood.
“If we can’t get out of here tonight, we’ll stay for a party,” said Edith.
“It is the possibility of taking when you travel. I would prefer to get home tonight or tomorrow because I have commitments at home.
“We know that Heathrow is closed all day, the airlines are giving us the next flight available, but it is just a waiting case.”
The BBC journalist Thomas Mackintosh had to fly to Heathrow after seeing the victory at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium.
He told BBC Radio Good morning Scotland The fellow fans had been looking for alternative ways to get home.
He said: “We have heard some quite crazy routes so far from friends.
“It is safe inconvenience, but you cannot help at this time and the Greek authorities have been really useful.
“Fortunately we have been able to book on another flight, but that has reached a cost, around € 500 (£ 418)”.
Scott McTominay He scored the only goal of the game when Steve Clarke’s team claimed a vital victory of the first game In the tie.
Greece visits Hampden on Sunday for the return section.
Paige Mackintosh, who was also at Athens airport, said from his point of view, half of Tartan’s army was still in bed when Heathrow’s news was learned.
“Everyone is in a good mood,” he said. “I think because it’s not like a luggage strike.
“It was a really good game, a really good construction we had.”

More than 1,300 flights will be interrupted After a transformer within North Hyde’s electrical substation, he caught fire in western London.
It caused a blackout at the airport, with land flights as a result for safety reasons.
The accumulation is expected to last several days.
Around 120 flights to the airport were in the air when the closure was announced.
They were diverted to several places throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, including a JFK flight, which landed at Glasgow airport.
A Heathrow spokesman said they did not know when electrical supplies would be restored.
Travel writer Simon Calder told Good Morning Scotland that the closing scale was the largest from the Icelandic volcano rash in 2010.

A spokesman for the Edinburgh Airport said that 10 output services and 12 tickets had been affected by the fire.
They added that BA flights were the only services that would be based and that everyone else operated normally.
It is understood that around 2,800 passengers are affected.
Glasgow airport has activated its “Plan 39” protocol, which means that the spare spaces at the airport are assigned according to the need.
Glasgow has taken five flights this morning, two from Virgin Atlantic and three BA transatlantic services.
A spokesman for AGS airports, which operates to Aberdeen and Glasgow airports, said: “Our airports are operating as normal apart from all flights to and from London Heathrow that have been canceled for the rest of the day.
“Any passenger scheduled to fly to Heathrow must communicate with its airline directly before traveling to the airport”

Meanwhile, Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (Hial), which runs the Inverness Airport, confirmed that the arrival of 10:00 from Heathrow and the exit of 11:05 to the airport were canceled.
Hial also said that the planned arrivals and the departures of the Dundee airport to Heathrow in Loganair had been canceled.
All airports will be presented with the National Air Traffic Service (NATS) about the acceptance of flight deviations throughout the day.
Refund or redir
Rory Boland, which one? Travel said passengers may not be entitled to compensation if their flight was canceled.
However, they can claim a refund for flight and parking fees through your insurance provider.
He said: “Passengers will have the option of being redirected or accepting a refund, and if you opt for the first, your airline is obliged to take it to a new flight as soon as possible, even with rival carriers from alternative airports.
“If you accept a refund, keep in mind that your airline will have no more care for you and should make your own arrangements.
“It is also worth verifying the terms of your travel insurance to see if you can recover any other expense that you have incurred as a result of this incident, such as car rental or parking fees at the airport.”
