Manchester City chief Pep Guardiola says that Ballon D’Or Rodri could return to action this season.
The images of the training of the midfielder of Spain were published by the club on Friday, less than 24 hours before they advanced to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup by beating Plymouth Argyle.
The city officials are desperate to minimize any type of immediate time scale when Rodri’s return.
But given how much the winner of the Eurocup 2024 has been lost: the Premier League champions are currently fourth on the table, 20 points of the current Liverpool leaders after eight defeats in the league: it is not surprising that the images generate a lot of emotion among their fans.
And, for the first time since Rodri suffered a great knee injury against Arsenal in September, Guardiola feels that the 28 -year -old could appear before the end of the campaign, with the FIFA Club World Cup in June.
“Fans should know that they are not the only ones that are excited,” said the city head. “Five months or six months have passed.
“But [it’s] One step at the same time. We don’t have to make stupid decisions [for him] To come weeks before. He is not close to returning, but he is touching the ball and is in the locker room.
“He feels safe and happy.
“I couldn’t wait before [him to return] Before the end of the season, not even for him [Club] World Cup, but maybe it will happen. “
Guardiola also confirmed that defender Nathan Ake will have more evidence on a problem that fears that he can keep international countries out for some time.
“Sometimes he fights with his feet,” he added. “This has been the whole season with the central defenders.”
Ake, 30, has been restricted to 18 appearances so far this season due to a succession of short -term injuries and was removed in part time against Plymouth. The companions defenders John Stones and Manuel Akanji also lost the victory of the FA Cup for injuries.
