Roblox continues to update its parental controls, adding three new features to improve child safety on the platform.
Parents and guardians can now block and inform anyone on the list of friends of their children, which in turn prevents direct messages from being blocked contacts.
Specific games and experiences can also be blocked, while parents could only review or change the expiration level of the content.
In addition, Roblox has provided deeper information about what experiences children are playing. Parents and guardians can see the 20 experiences that your child has spent more time in the last week. If there are experiences to those who do not want your child to have access, it can be blocked.
They can also establish spending limits on their child’s account and administer their children’s privacy settings.
“Providing tools that block specific friends and experiences of Roblox, along with the visibility of how long is playing Roblox games, allows parents to better support the safe use of their children’s platform,” says the CEO of Connectsafely, Larry Magid.
“Roblox has constantly provided parents tools that allow their children to enjoy the platform, while helping to protect them against online risks.
These new tools for blocking friends and experience provide parents with a greater way to help ensure that their children use it safely. “
The review of Roblox’s parents was announced in October 2024 and implemented in November. These included the introduction of remote parental controls, updated communication configuration and the addition of content labels to experiences.
The firm also added moderation for un classified experiences, restricted access to social meeting and free user content places.
