Palm Beach, Florida – The president of the Baltimore Ravens, Sashi Brown, said Sunday that the team will not make a determination in the future of Pateador Justin Tucker with the franchise until the NFL has finished its research on accusations of inappropriate sexual behavior.
“From our point of view, I think we want to make sure we have a great understanding of the facts, a real understanding of the facts, listen to both sides of the situation, and that we allow the investigation to be carried out and conclude properly, and make decisions based on the complete information,” Brown told reporters in the Baltimore area at the annual meeting of the League.
Tucker has been accused of inappropriate behavior by 16 massage therapists of eight spas and welfare centers of Baltimore, according to the Baltimore banner. According to reports, all incidents occurred during the 2012 to 2016 sessions, Tucker’s first five seasons in the NFL.
NFL researchers began speaking last month with some of the women who accused Tucker of inappropriate sexual behavior, a source told ESPN. In 2021, the Union of the League and the Union of Players took five months to finish an agreement in the case of sexual assault of the Cleveland Browns Marshal Browns, Deshaun Watson.
On Tuesday, Brown indicated that the Ravens have received “periodic updates” of the League.
“We would love that this happens much faster than,” Brown said. “So, from our point of view, we need to allow research [to] conclude. The NFL includes the urgency surrounding this type of situations and accusations, so we need to allow them time. I do not think they will take as long as possible, but we certainly know that they are working prudence and trying to reach what is a series of people who need to provide evidence before they return to us. And they have been progressing, we know. “
Tucker has played the accusations publicly, issuing a statement in social networks in January in which he described the “unequivocally false” accusations. He has been accused by women of sexually inappropriate behavior that included exposing their genitals, brushing some of the women with their exposed penis and leaving what they thought was ejaculated at the massage table.
Until the investigation concludes, Brown said that Tucker will be able to participate in the Ravens low seasonal conditioning program, which begins on April 21, as well as the low season practices of the team in May and June.
“That is all that is governed by the CBA and the NFL personal behavior policy,” Brown said.
While the state of Tucker with the Ravens remains in Limbo, General Manager Eric Decosta and coach John Harbaugh recognized at the NFL Combine in February that Baltimore is looking for kickers in the draft.
Tucker, 35, is the most precise kicker in the history of the NFL, but comes from the worst season of his 13 -year career. 10 total kicks were lost last season.
If the Ravens separate with Tucker, they will probably have to designate it as a cut after June 1 to divide the $ 7.5 million in dead money for two seasons and earn $ 4.2 million in salary space this year. But no decision seems imminent.
“One of the best things about the fact that the NFL is assuming this is that it gives more independence to the team,” Brown said. “And so we try to respect and stay along an arm while doing their research.”
