The hit Pokémon TCG Pocket smartphone app will add its first major expansion of new cards at the end of January, according to a new leak.
A datamine of the game‘s event calendar published by Centro Leaks suggests that the game‘s first expansion, currently untitled, will arrive on January 29, with the caveat that the final dates are still subject to change.
That current plan would mean a roughly three-month window between the release of Pokémon TCG Pocket and the arrival of a flood of new cards, which seems about right?
That said, a special booster pack is also suggested to be released in December, which hints at some additional cards arriving a little early to help fans out.
Other upcoming additions to Pokémon TCG Pocket spotted in the datamine include a new card rarity and rare picks that will be added to the Wonder Pick mechanic.
Pokémon TCG Pocket appears to be off to a great start, with $12 million earned during the game‘s first four days and more than 30 million downloads after one week.
Pokémon TCG Pocket relies heavily on opening collectible card game packs, although you can also play a simplified version of the classic trading card game through the app.
