The recently excepted Pokémon TCG space game is claimed to have had a powerful origin.
As reported via Mobilegamer.biz, estimates from mobile market research company AppMagic suggest that the game earned around $3 million to date in its debut weekend.
The game is claimed to have earned $12.1 million in its first four days, and is lately generating more profits than Pokémon Progress, which is estimated to earn around $1 million to date.
Since the game is an unused emblem cut, it’s more apparent if it will be able to continue this momentum, or if it will eventually be lost as players travel to other games.
The game’s official account on X showed that the game was downloaded more than 10 million times during its debut weekend.
AppMagic data also estimates that today’s Japan accounts for around 4% of the total game download collection, accounts for around 45% of game revenue, and Japanese players are much more likely to pay for microtransactions.
It also suggests that most of the money was spent on the iOS version of the game, with estimates suggesting it earned $10.5 million and the Android version accounting for the excess $1.6 million.
Pokémon TCG Area is The Pokémon Company’s true effort to recreate its Pokémon Trading Card Game virtually.
Players can purchase virtual packs of Pokémon by trading cards (with a separate collection given to them on each date) and then attempt to collect them all or use them to participate in battles.
