PlayStation has formed new studio Dark Outlaw Games with Call of Duty Zombies lead Jason Blundell

Sony has formed a new first -part study within PlayStation Studios. Dark Outlaw Games comes from the head of study and director Jason Blundell.

The former co-stud of Treyarch, Blundell, was one of the main creators of Call of Duty zombies before leaving activation in 2020 after 13 years. It would then serve as one of the co -founders of the deviation games.

Deviation Games did not have the opportunity to launch its debut project, an original IP that was exclusive to PlayStation platforms.

In an interview with Jeff Gerstmann, Blundell confirmed that the new study is “staff” and that he would have more to share in the first study project in the future.

“I’ve had the incredible opportunity to create a new study in PlayStation Studios for Sony,” Blundell said.

“The study is called outlaw Dark. We have been working in the shadows for a while, when we have something to talk about, we will come to light. “

“It is a privilege to be able to do it with Sony as a new third -party study, Sony does not begin to first part of all the time, so having that privilege is humiliating.”

Blundell would not confirm where the study is in terms of production schedule, apart from the fact that the study has gone “for a little time.”

“It’s about making the team gele,” he continued. “I am a heart programmer, so we try those assumptions, is it working? … You are trying to reach that exhaust speed.”

Blundell also confirmed that he will serve as head of study and director of Outlaw Dark games.

According to the reports, the deviation was “more than 100 strong” in 2021 when he signed the agreement with Sony. At the time of his announcement, the study told Gamesindustry.Biz that his PlayStation agreement guaranteed “full financial security during the coming years.”

The study closed its doors in 2024.
