O’Rourke, 23, has played all the formats for his country with impressive returns since he first limited himself in 2023. In all of the T20 cricket, he has taken 35 WICKETS to an average of 24.94 and an economy 7.82.
His period with Yorkshire will be the first in Domestic Crick out of New Zealand, and spoke with Kane Williamson, who played for Yorkshire between 2013 and 2018, about the movement.
“I talked to Kane [Williamson] about the possibility of signing for Yorkshire and was effusive in his praise for the club and the followers of Yorkshire, “he said.” Everyone around the world knows about Yorkshire CCC and I will be proud to use the white rose when I arrive. “
Anthony McGrath, chief coach of Yorkshire, said that O’Rourke, with 6 feet and 4 inches, would provide a “difference” to the attack of the team in T20.
McGrath said: “As soon as we knew that there was a potential to bring will to the club, we knew we wanted to confirm it as soon as possible.
“With its frame and height, it has a point of release that will provide a key point of difference for our attack. It is young, hungry to succeed and capable of extracting rhythm and bouncing from all kinds of releases.”
Gavin Hamilton, general manager of cricket from Yorkshire, said: “Signing a Will -caliber player of Will is a sign of our intention for this season. He was one of the outstanding stars of the last year and showed his ability against England during the winter.
“A bowling player like Will who can get to the deck complements the rest of our team well. This is a firm that should really excite all our members and followers, and I am delighted to join us this year.”
