The Opus Major developer based in Paris has raised $ 10 million in an initial financing round, directed by Giffin gaming Partners and the first Aven investor.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Opus Major will use the investment to support the continuous development of its debut in the multiplatform multiplayer OPUS #1.
The study also plans to produce a playable version of the limited access game and hire more developers to join their team.
Opus Major was co-founded in 2023 by the Jean-Nicolas Vernin CEO and the creative director Pierre-Armand Nicq.
Vernin previously co -founded the Madbox mobile developer (where he served as CEO and production director), and was previously executive producer and editorial director at Gameloft. Nicq worked at Ubisoft for five years before joining Madbox in 2021.
“Our mission in Opus Major is to make the world click together,” said Vernin and Nicq. “We have experienced countless happy memories while we play music and video games with friends.”
“We decided to build our first OPUS to fulfill this mission. We have been working with our Jammers team to offer a first glance to our universe in 2025”.
Pierre Planche de Griffin gaming Partners added: “Music and games are powerful ways to connect with people, and Jean-Nicolas and Pierre-Armand combine them so that they feel familiar but unique.”
