The NFL has long recognized the great players for their performances (and outside the field every year at the end of the season. It used to be publicly announced, but now it is everything ~ with a night dedicated to the honors of The NFL and delivering the awards, in addition to announcing the annual class of the Hall of Fame of Professional Football that is being tilted.
But we don’t always see enough recognized players. Just ask the wings closed, who decided, thanks to George Kittle, to launch their own day, since they rarely get the credit they deserve. Or the offensive linens that, as the prominent Bills, Tackle Dion Dawkins point out, deserve their own prize.
We obtain an MVP, an offensive player of the year, an offensive rookie of the year, etc., etc., but the prize for the best offensive liner of the year is not awarded, outside the all-prodles.
Technically, offensive linens are eligible for the previous singular awards, and several have received votes for them in recent years, but should they obtain their own prize? Probably!

Then, let’s give it: CBS Sports is proud to present the first annual prize of the offensive liner of the year. As you can see and read below, we have nominated eight NFL players for the offensive liner of the year. Those eight players will be voted both publicly and internally. We will announce two finalists and then the Super Bowl week, we will reveal to the offensive liner of the year.
Look at Kyle Long and Pete Prisco, breaking everything.
Nominees
- Dion Dawkins, Lt, Bills: As Prisco points out, the Bills allowed the least amount of captures in the League (19) and Dawkins is a great reason. The offensive line of Bills is probably the most underestimated individual unit throughout football this year and a massive reason why they made another AFC championship game. In addition, the idea occurred to him!
- Creed Humphrey, C, Chiefs: “An absolute rude” according to Long, who played with Humphrey as a rookie. Long added that when he went to Humphrey a rookie treatment, Humphrey “doubled me by my shirt” and said: “I am not the type of nebos.” Kyle Long, friends, is a great guy. If you are grabbing it and nail it by your shirt, you are a big man. (Look until the end for an excellent “Breaking Bad” reference by Kyle by the).
- Lane Johnson, RT, Eagles: There is no doubt that Johnson is “the kind of tacle in reason” as long notes and perhaps even the best offensive liner of the entire NFL. Johnson has been dominant for a long time and is widely known among the intelligent people of the NFL that when you get Johnson from the field, the Eagles offensive can really get a bit bogue. That is good.
- Chris Lindstrom, OG, Falcons: “It’s violent, it’s physical,” Long said, before pointing out how good Lindstrom is to get defenders at the second level on the ground. The Falcons, with Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allegier, were a dominant team this year and Lindstrom’s game inside Atlanta’s offensive line was a great reason.
- Quinn Meinerz, Og, Broncos: “It’s a Mauler,” says Prisco. “If you are looking for a guard, guard of the old school, that is him right there.” The Broncos were a big surprise this season with Bo Nix erupting in Sean Payton and Meinerz’s offensive becoming an All-Pro in 2024 was a great reason why.
- Penei Sewell, RT, lions: I mean, what do you need to say? The guy is an incredible pass protector and an absolute destroyer in the race game, someone who can go out in space and turn off the defenders. Oh yes, and you can design offensive plays around you.
- Joe Thuney, Ol, bosses: Shoutout to the Wolfpack star who won Super Bowls in New England and then went to win even more super bowls in Kansas City. You are looking for number five if the chiefs win the Super Bowl Lix. And he is doing it as a Tackle now in the Chiefs offensive because they need it due to reasons of injury/performance. Slide and turn off the runners of first level passes? Of course, no problem.
- Tristan Wirfs, OT, Buccaneers: “I think it’s the best left Tackle in the National Football League,” said Prisco. Justified! Wirfs moved from the right backle to Tampa Tampa and has been a massive component for the offensive explosion of the BUCs in recent years, since he has protected the blind side of Baker Mayfield.
