James suffered the injury during the Otago game against the central districts in the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield, the one -day competition for Women of cricket in New Zealand. James made his debut in Odi against Australia in Wellington last year and scored 51 races in two games. Chief coach Ben Sawyer was disappointed that he couldn’t take advantage of that “strong start” against Sri Lanka.
“We are all destroyed by Bella,” said Sawyer. “She had a strong beginning in her international Cricking career in December, so it is a shame that she does not have the opportunity to support that series. But we hope she tracks to return to the T20.” The T20i series of three games will be played from March 14 to March 18.
“Lauren brings a lot of experience to the group,” Sawyer said. “She has been a key taxpayer for him [Auckland] Hearts this season and pleases that he has the opportunity to take that form to this series. “
The ODI series of three games will begin on March 4 in Nelson before moving to Napier for the next two games.
