It is a long campaign, and the season is just beginning, but week four presented some important individual performances outside the international window, so it is attentive to the players who accommodate after the duty of the national team. For those who maintain the score, or simply playing, see the NWSL team for week three.
Only four weeks have passed, but fans can see selected matches of the regular NWSL season on CBS platforms, including CBS, CBS Sports Network, Paramount+and CBS Sports Golazo Network.
Take a look at our best XI:
Forwards
Alyssa Thompson (Angel City FC): The end had a massive performance for Angel City after a successful season with the US National Team. Uu. She recorded a goal and an assistance against Houston to collect three crucial points, and Thompson is undoubtedly the MVP of Angel City, while rivuring the League, and another of our best members of XI, also for the first honors.
Esther Gozález (Gotham FC): After spending time with Spain and scoring in the UEFA women’s league, Esther scored two goals in Gotham’s 3-1 victory against North Carolina. It is his first time on the score sheet for the club after four weeks, and his efforts in defensive pressed situations did not slow down his highest efforts in the field.
Ludmila (Chicago Stars FC): The Brazilian international overturned the switch and celebrations when she scored twice for stars with difficulties. The club has not had many answers in front of the goal to begin this season and Ludmila’s two goals gave the stars their first victory of the year.
Midfielders
Leicy Santos (Washington Spirit): The attacking midfielder nailed an impressive free kick to give the spirit an insurance goal and ensure a victory on the road against Louisville. She has been a presence of constant attack for the spirit, along with Ashley Hatch, while other attacking players return from an injury.
Hina Sugita (Portland Thorns FC): Whether it is to win the ball or finding teammates, Sugita has been a key component in the center of the Thorns field, since they are calculated earlier this season. Reilyn Turner is becoming silent in his top scorer, while Sugita remains a stealthy connective presence capable of changing the tempo of the game.
Debinha (Kansas City Current): Nothing sounds to the first MVP bells stronger than a fourth consecutive appearance in our team of the week and that is exactly the case of Debinha. She directs her team and the league, in possibilities (15), and scored her third goal for the fourth consecutive victory of Kansas City. She is in a three -wing draw for the second in the Golden Boot race along with the teammate of the Temwa Chawinga Club.
Defenders
Lilly Reale (Gotham FC): The rookie defender had another impressive beginning when she scored her first professional goal during the weekend. I was constantly involved higher in the field in sections of the game and had many moments of aviology when they connected passes to the attackers. He led the team in intentions of Cruces (5) and recoveries (8) during the first victory of Gotham of the season.
Emily Sams (Orlando Pride): There may not be a defender more consistent in the league this season and Sams showed that this weekend after not getting minutes with the national team. He was back in the combination of closing attacks and directed the team in total recoveries (9) when Orlando won a fourth consecutive victory.
Sam Staab (Chicago Stars FC): Staab’s return of an Achilles injury last year is still impressive and this time his efforts was worth the first victory of the year of Chicago. Chicago’s defensive form is stronger when available and its long link game provides another layer to a quiet offensive for the stars.
Trinity Armstrong (San Diego FC): Another rookie who left week four, Armstrong took the most of his first beginning with San Diego. The 17 -year -old was second in the team in the success of Tackle (66.7%) and the authorizations (3) during her 76 minutes against the news of Kansas City.
Goalie
Bella Bixby (Portland Thorns FC): A great return arc for Bixby, who left with a bleached against Utah. He returned to the network for the first time from the birth of his daughter last July and confronted 12 crosses, nine shots against and three corners. The former starter could see more time on the network after his clutch performance.
Coach
Sam Laity (Angel City FC): The former NWSL coach has often been on the sidelines in a secondary role between the coaching staff, outside a period of one -year -old training in Houston, and now he is the interim manager while Angel City seeks his next long -term pattern. Laity’s “Play The Kids” is working, since younger players are having more beginnings and responsibilities at the beginning of the season. It is working, you must continue with him, especially if he is leading to victories.
