The second week of the National League of Women’s Soccer 2025 presented a combination of the Playoffs semifinalists last year they face. The first four 2024 squadrons could have given a vision of Playoff from the beginning of 2025 or, at least, some tone of the main contestants. While other clubs collected their first points of the season, some teams are emerging as dark horses or writing their return hymns.
The former semifinalists delivered entertaining actions. Gotham FC dropped its opening at home, 0-2, to reign the winners of the NWSL shield and the NWSL Orlando Pride champions. Meanwhile, Kansas City Current spoiled the first game of the house for the winners of the NWSL Challenge 2025 Washington Spirit Cup with a 2-0 whitled on the road. It may not be surprising that multiple pride and current players decipher our best weekly XI.
Throughout the regular season of 2025, attacking third will select a team of the week, with 11 of the best players of the week during the weekend.
It is early for competitive calendar, but fans can see regular NWSL season games on CBS platforms, including CBS, CBS Sports Network, Paramount+and CBS Sports Golazo Network.

Forwards
Barbra Banda (Orlando Pride): It may not have climbed into the score sheet, but band was everywhere in the field against Gotham FC. Even on a day when the lanes were clogged to shoot, the implacable band presence maintained the honest defense throughout the game.
Temwa Chawinga (Kansas City Current): NWSL’s golden boots is officially on. Chawinga scored a goal in her team’s 3-1 victory against Washington Spirit. Their dynamic movement and clinical finish showed their ability to impact games at the end of the game, and their contributions helped maintain the undefeated season of their team, solidifying its early shape.
Delphine Cascarino (San Diego Wave FC): The France International had a massive game, offering assistance and facing defenders. When he was not trying to create for his teammates, he often pressed the opposition to recover the ball.
Midfielders
Debinha (Kansas City Current): Another general action of the Brazilian international in week two. He led the team in the created opportunities (five), was second in total shots (three) and objective attempts (three), and she was a constant factor in the accumulation of attack.
Lo’eau Labonta (Kansas City Current): The NWSL veteran obtained her name on the score sheet and delivered another celebration of epic goals when she turned a penalty. It was an important factor in the neutralization of opposition attacks and led the team in recovering (eight).
Ally Watt (Orlando Pride): There will be some debate about where Watt is in the best XI, considering that it is a force in attack, but opts has been listed as a correct attacker, so he is also receiving recognition here. When I was not trying to get a shot or a cross, I was trying to recover the ball for Orlando.
Defenders
Kayla Sharple (Kansas City Current): Sharple has been a stable presence in the background of the current since his arrival last year. It seems the permanent response with Alana Cook for the central duo of the current one and was second in the team in authorizations (eight) and duels (three).
Emily Sonnett (NJ/ny Gotham FC): The organization’s organization efforts in the background are indicators that Gotham will be a difficult and organized side to face. Goalie
Anna Moorehouse (Orlando Pride): The English international is back in the best XI after another clean sheet of week two. He faced 20 crosses and 15 shots, making four salvages to start the Orlando laundering streak.
