Los Angeles – The stars of Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, sat for a second consecutive game on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers while they continue to breastfeed persistent injuries.
The Nugget coach Michael Malone said before the loss of 120-108 of the team that Christian Braun, who also lost Denver’s victory on Monday in the Golden State Warriors due to the inflammation of the left foot, would play against the Lakers and that Jokic and Murray were “much more questionable.” Braun finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 28 minutes.
Murray, who has a right ankle is Esguince, fought to move during a brief confrontation one with the Denver assistant coach John Beckett more than two hours before the start of Wednesday. Jokic, the three -time MVP, is dealing with the impact of the left ankle and a bruise to his elbow to the right.
“You listen to your body,” Malone said. “I have to, as a chief coach, trust our players and trust training staff.”
Malone disagreed with the perception that Nuggets are choosing to rest Jokic and Murray, especially against teams against those competing for the planting of playoffs of the West Conference.
“I think that is just a lot of bulls,” said Malone. “I mean, in the last 10 years, Nikola Jokic has played the second most games in the NBA. Ten years. And the boys of the top 10, none of them are superstar.
“So, if Nikola is not playing, it is not because he is sitting. It is not because he needs to rest. It is because he is injured and trying to play with things that most would not.
