SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Less than an age removed from the next time he was in the clinic with symptoms of pneumonia, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is feeling much better, even though his status as of Sunday night surplus. up into the breeze.
Samuel, who went to a local clinic Tuesday afternoon following a condition in which fluid was detected in his lungs, passed testing Thursday and Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game against Dallas. Cowboys.
Niners educator Kyle Shanahan said the team has been cautious with Samuel at this age as he works to regain his stamina.

The Niners could certainly take advantage of Samuel, especially considering they still will be without two key alternate receivers. Jauan Jennings was ruled out for the second year in a row due to hip trauma, and Brandon Aiyuk landed due to an accumulation of injuries last year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Speaking to the media during the first month since he fell ill at an advanced age, Samuel said his experience was a little scary.
“It was scary because it was kind of hard to really breathe and you can’t take a deep breath,” Samuel said. “So in the middle of that, I’m wondering, what’s going on? And then we found out what was going on after the game.”
Samuel first began to feel unwell on Saturday night and Sunday morning before last season’s loss to the Kansas Town Chiefs. He tried to play in that game despite lacking the most warm-ups because he could tell something was wrong.
On Friday, Samuel said he “didn’t have the energy to run or anything like that for a while,” and when he was in the warehouse getting an IV, it didn’t do much to turn him back. He tried to play against the Chiefs, but played four snaps before his speed ended.
From there, it was learned that Samuel had fluid in his lungs, which caused him to be admitted to the clinic on Sunday night.
“I have hospital anxiety,” Samuel said. “I don’t like being in the hospital, but whatever it takes to get better, I’m all for it… I was there relaxing and getting all the treatment I needed.”
Samuel remained in the clinic until Tuesday afternoon and, although he did not participate in Wednesday’s practice, he was performing some surgery and conditioning on the side during the media-visible portion of practice.
On Thursday afternoon, Samuel returned to limited observation and then adopted a homogeneous plan for Friday’s consultation. Samuel said Friday that he feels “pretty good” and had a “pretty solid” practice age, but he declined to make any proclamations about his chances of playing against the Cowboys, announcing that “we’ll see.” “.
Samuel isn’t the only key Niner with a questionable designation for Sunday. Tight end George Kittle (bottom), cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (condition) and safety George Odum (knee) are also questionable.
Like Samuel, Odum and Kittle had limited practice on Thursday and next Friday and will no longer collaborate on Wednesday. Lenoir used to be an unused addition to Friday’s trauma log.
Elsewhere on the trauma list, the Niners ruled out kicker Jake Moody (sprained right ankle) and defensive back Kevin Givens (groin) along with Jennings.
Shanahan also said the team is hopeful that defenseman Talanoa Hufanga, who is on IR with torn ligaments in his wrist, can return this season, although that is no longer a positive.
“I know he’s trying to come back this season,” Shanahan said. “That’s his plan. That’s his hope and I know he has at least a few more weeks on the injured list. Let’s see how he feels after that.”
