NFL Week 8 Injury Tracker: Drake Maye suffered concussion in win over Jets; Jordan Love retires after groin pinch

Age 8 is underway within the NFL. Week we’re fixated on several key matchups throughout Sunday’s schedule, injuries always promise to be part of the equation as those games stretch out and that’s again the case in this lifetime.

Accidents played an unmistakable role in Thursday’s clash between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings. As Los Angeles welcomed back its previously injured big receiver duo in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, the Vikings saw the superstar left-hander facing Christian Darrisaw suffer a season-ending knee trauma throughout the competition.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s slate also saw the traumatic Trojan horse collision at the birthday party on another occasion.

Below is an updated, team-by-team list of all the other key injuries to 8-year-olds across the league.

  • Naquan Jones (thigh): The Cardinals defensive lineman is doubtful to return against the Dolphins due to thigh trauma suffered in the first half.
  • Brent City (concussion): The Ravens pass rusher suffered a concussion in the first phase of Age 8 and was ruled out against the Browns.
  • Michael Pierce (calf): The Ravens nose team was taken ill with a calf injury and has been ruled out.
  • Orlando Brown Jr. (right knee): It is questionable whether the Bengals will return due to serious knee trauma.

cleveland browns

  • Denzel Ward (director): The Browns announced that Ward suffered a head injury and will not return.
  • Ogbo Okoronkwo (knee): The Browns outside linebacker is questionable due to knee trauma.
  • Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah: The Browns linebacker was carted out of the outfield and then suffered a major injury to Ravens running back Derrick Henry in the third quarter.
  • Malcolm Rodríguez (ankle): The Colts linebacker is hesitant to return for Sunday’s matchup against Tennessee due to ankle trauma.
  • Jordan Love (groin): Love used to be formally listed as questionable for returning with groin trauma, but did not return to competition. He went down awkwardly on his leg in the second half, resulting in Malik Willis coming in at quarterback. This build comes as Love also looked like he would pinch his leg on the second run of life to Jacksonville. He used to be evaluated in the science tent, but he did not go unnoticed at that time.
  • Evan Williams (hamstring): Safety is out due to hamstring trauma.

Houston Texans

  • Stefon Diggs (knee): It looked like the Texans’ big receiver was going to suffer non-contact knee trauma in the final minutes of the third quarter. He was initially listed as questionable to return, but has since been downgraded to out.
  • Tim Govern (calf): The defensive position is questionable to return due to calf trauma.
  • Jarrett Patterson (concussion): The offensive lineman has been recognized with a concussion and is out.

Indianapolis Colts

  • Anthony Richardson (leg): The Colts quarterback returned to the outfield after a short-lived trauma scare. In the second phase, Richardson was coming off a sack and, as he moved into the practice sequence, he awkwardly landed on his left leg. Despite being on his third illness, Richardson signaled he had to get out and Joe Flacco was in the outfield on his third illness before settling for an outfield target.
  • Trevor Denbow (knee): The Colts defense was ruled out after suffering knee trauma against Houston.
  • Christian Kirk (shoulder): The Jaguars lost several move receivers on Sunday, including Kirk. He has been ruled out due to shoulder trauma.
  • Brian Thomas Jr. (chest): It’s doubtful the rookie first-round catcher will return after suffering chest trauma.
  • Gabe Davis (shoulder): Jaguars wide receiver questionable if he returns due to shoulder trauma.
  • Ronald Darby (hip): Jaguars corner is questionable to return after suffering hip trauma.

Miami Dolphins

  • Julian Hill (shoulder): It’s questionable whether the Dolphins tight end will return for Miami’s matchup against Arizona due to shoulder trauma.
  • Jevon Holland (knee): The Dolphins defense was downgraded to the outside and then suffered knee trauma. First of all, he was classified as questionable. After the game, head teacher Mike McDaniel told reporters that the trauma doesn’t seem serious at first, but he will know more on Monday and then conduct more tests.

Minnesota Vikings

  • Christian Darrisaw (knee): The Minnesota star suffered season-ending knee trauma in the second quarter of Thursday night’s loss to the Rams.
  • Drake Maye (concussion): The Patriots quarterback was tested inside the blue science tent and then suffered a withered top injury in the second quarter of Brandnew England’s matchup against the Jets. He headed to the bench room and was initially listed as questionable to return, but has since been downgraded to out with a concussion. Jacoby Brissett took over at quarterback.

New Orleans Saints

  • Chris Olave (director): After suffering a serious injury midway through the first quarter, the receiver was examined in the blue science tent. The Saints say he was evaluated for a concussion and cleared to return.

New York Jets

  • CJ Mosley (neck): The Jets linebacker is out and suffers neck trauma. He was first ruled questionable to return.

Philadelphia Eagles

  • Darius Slay (groin): The Eagles say the veteran cornerback suffered groin trauma and will not return.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Sterling Shepherd (hamstrings): The Buccaneers’ big receiving room is dealing with all the other traumas and Shepard has doubts about his return due to hamstring trauma.
