The first round of the NBA playoffs of 2025 advances on Saturday, and fans can wait for a playoffs full of action after a memorable regular season.
After a historical domain season, the Cleveland Cavaliers have claimed seed number 1 in the east. But not far from them are the Boston Celtics defense champions in position number 2, directed by Jays Tatum and the reigning of the MVP of the finals Jaylen Brown.
In the west, the Oklahoma City Thunder is ready to rumble after command of seed number 1 for a second consecutive season behind MVP Hopingful Shai Gilgous-Alexander. The final sowing was reduced on the last day of the regular season, since the Minnesota Timberwolves claimed the seed number 6 to avoid the game.
However, before any of these first level teams take the court, the numbers 7 and 8 seeds at each conference must decide in the game tournament, starting Tuesday.
After the game tournament concludes on Friday, the NBA playoffs of 16 teams begin on Saturday with four games, followed by and four more on April 20. Eight teams from each conference reach the first round and face a better series of seven to advance. The four rounds of the NBA playoffs are the best of seven, and the teams are not reconditioned after each round. The team with the best record of the regular season in each series will have an advantage in the court at home for that series. All series are played in a 2-2-1-1 format, with the team with the best record of games 1, 2, 5 and 7 (if necessary).
